You can mark her words on that one. No jury will convict Jodi Arias.
Jodi Arias quickly added the fact that she was innocent and that was the reason she made that statement…but oddly it sounded like an “afterthought.”
Smiling and smirking her way through a “48 Hours Mystery”, Jodi Arias stated emphatically that she believed she could lie her way out of a conviction and fool any jury.
That is the sign of someone who has been successfully lying to people for years.
Who knows how many other people this woman has hurt along the way?
I have been enjoying Dr. Drew’s coverage of this trial…and as long as he stays away from discussing anything “Anthony”… I will continue to watch him. He has had fascinating guests on his show and one of my favorites is a body language expert.
The other night, when she answered a call, she pointed out something that I have noticed in court…and it was also mentioned by witnesses who attended Travis’ funeral. That is the “smirking and laughing” that Arias seems to do when she feels that she is “getting over.” I found it chilling that she was described as “giggling” and “smirking” inappropriately at the funeral by Travis’ family and friends. The body language expert referred to this as:
“duping delight”
and said it was a common phenomenon associated with sociopaths and pathological liars. They enjoy deceiving others…to the point that they cannot hide their glee.
The week ended Thursday with the defense’s latest attempt to save a client that grows more and more despicable with each day. Seeing this woman in court, smirking at what she has done and at the possibility of getting away with it, is extremely disturbing to watch. In my opinion a mental defense would have been more sympathetic then attempting to trash the victim.
The defense pushes on…defiling Travis Alexander’s reputation and ignoring the fact that this man was hideously butchered…supposedly in a life and death struggle with someone half his size…who magically escaped with absolutely no injures.
The autopsy photos say it all and if that is not enough…the documentation of the last moments of Travis Alexander’s life…with the camera that we now know was in Jodi Arias’s hands…speaks volumes.
Fuzzy disoriented photos in a sequence that tells a terrible story…yet one photo is crystal clear.
You can see in this series of photos that Jodi Arias has positioned Travis with his back to her and then the camera goes dark @ 5:22:54. In my opinion she could be fumbling for the knife or looking around for it. She is a photographer and clearly she is not focusing on the photograph at this point in the series.
At 5:23:30 something happens and the shot looks completely automatic with a light streak in it. Watching each frame you can see when the camera is being aimed correctly and when Arias is focusing on something else…not the photography.
In court she used the excuse that she wasn’t used to using that camera but most photographers solve those issues before they point a camera and start shooting pictures with it.
The fact is you can see Arias re-positioning Travis with his back to her @ 5:27:12 and a few seconds later something startles Travis and he turns around with a surprised look on his face.
From 5:27:18 to 5:33:32…six minutes and fourteen seconds…Travis Alexander went from a startled…out of focus expression to a bloody heap on the floor and the most frightening fact of all is…unlike all of the previous photos…the photo @ 5:29:20 demonstrates that the person taking the picture was familiar enough with the camera settings and lighting situation… to take a clear purposeful photo before chaos was captured by a camera that was set on automatic…and recording the very last moments of Travis Alexander’s life.

Clearly in the sequence of photos above…there is one photo that is crystal clear, the lighting is good and it is in focus. In a matter minutes Travis Alexander is being pulled across the floor.
I would be willing to bet Jodi Arias took that photo on purpose to document the final expression on Travis’ face…so that she could enjoy the moment over and over again.
In my opinion Jodi Arias made up her mind to kill Travis after this series of texts…

It occurred to me that the series of sex pics on the camera from ‘earlier that day’ but after they’d slept, might not have been taken “contemporaneously” (gotta love that word, huh?).
Arias took 1 shot of Travis laying nude in bed, from a side & behind angle such that he wasn’t facing the camera at all. The KY laid next to him – for all anyone knows, he masturbated or she gave him a BJ or hand job, or it hadn’t been used “yet.”
Then, there’s those shots of a nude Arias posing (with a very hard, contemptuous, determined smirk on her face) various raunchy ways .. her fake-tanned bits & bobs on display for the internet (I wonder if she used “makeup” on them as she demanded for her pre-penalty verdict nonverdict interspews ?) .
For all anyone knows, Travis might’ve gone downstairs to eat a sammie & get ready for his 7pm business meeting over the internet thinking Arias was packing up to leave for SLC, while instead she was using the camera’s timer to take those nudies of herself. The “cat that swallowed the canary whole” smirk she has on her face just gives me the impression Travis may not have taken those pics & may not have even known she took them .. in fact, she may have killed him before he had a chance to see what was on his camera’s memory card.
I agree with the post. When I saw the photo @ 5:27:18 (I had never seen many of those before) Travis looks absolutely startled. That had to be when he realized HE was scammed and Jodi had other plans for him besides photographing his newly buff body. It’s absolutely chilling. Almost puts you there. You are seeing the realization come over his face and also the realization that he is trapped…not much he can do.
Re: Travis’ anger in those texts – I have heard (no doubt on HLN but can’t remember from whom — I am glued like so many others) that upon realizing that Travis REALLY meant it finally, that he was done, finished…Jodi threatened to tell everyone in his life: at the Church, PPL, family, etc. about his “secret” life with her (re: the sex and probably the deviant pedophilic behavior she has accused him of) and that would certainly blow his life apart. And Jodi knew it. She was threatening to blackmail/extort him into not ending the relationship. This is what he was referring to when he used the word “betrayed” re: that kind of threat. I don’t know if he previously had used the word “sociapath” to describe her previously, but it most certainly fits with her threat behavior.
And I wholeheartedly agree with Shelly where she said “…why Travis never did anything about the stalking. He didn’t think she was dangerous, just annoying.” Travis was apparently quite the born entertainer — everyone says he was so funny. (He also clearly had the unique ability to make so many people feel that he was their best friend as so many have wanted to make public comment about this whole debacle). So, when he said things like “if you find me dead sometime soon, you’ll know who did it” re: Jodi. It was tossed off like a joke. Even with the tire slashing, it was a real pain in the ass, and he was probably surprised (maybe not — he knew her a lot better than any of us!) that anyone does such things in real life. It sounds more like a Lifetime made-for-TV moment kind of thing. (Well, the whole thing IS going to be a lifetime movie). But no one actually thinks bad (horrible…heinous…weird) things that we read about or see on TV or in a movie happens to people like them. I think that when she threatened Travis about telling the world about their sex life — and maybe that he was a pedophile (don’t know if that is a post-murder invention) he thought that was absolutely the worst thing she could possibly do. And that is when he concluded that she was really nuts. (Altho’ for me, tire peeping in his windows + crawling thru his doggy door and sleeping on his couch + tire slashing + following him & Mimi on their first date would have been sign enough that she was more than weird). But in the end, I don’t think their are many people who would even imagine that somebody they know is capable of murder. Let alone somebody he had slept with for so long.
Bottom line: Travis did use Jodi for sex. There’s no doubt about it. But, at least in my experience, there are about a zillion guys who do that at some point in their lives. (I was going to say “dating-lives” but there are many who do it when they are married, too). But he also did a whole lot of nice things for her — and she made a point of testifying to that on the stand (remember the whole Cinnabon thing?) And he took her on all sorts of trips and so on. I think being with her was his time “to turn on and tune out” of everyday life, problems, tough times, etc. He knew how to flatter her to obfuscate the feelings he truly had for her, and she WANTED to believe he he loved her. Again, when on the stand, when she said that he had asked her to marry him, it was totally weird. She admitted he might have been joking one time, but another time on the phone she thought he was serious. You KNOW when a guy is proposing. And if he hasn’t.
The bottom line is that what is fascinating all of us about this trial, about Jodi and Travis, is that there is just this disconnect when one looks at Jodi (we all make presumptions based on people’s looks when we have no other information) and the fact that she actually did commit that savage heinous slaughter of this man. Talk about “cognative dissonance!” We know it is real, but it is hard for us to really understand how this could happen (could have happened).
Further, not only did she commit this violent, bloody murder, but since that time, her cold disconnected behavior is something else that none of us can really imagine or relate to. The nonstop lying — “to everyone,” as Jodi admitted on the stand — the way she could leave the murder scene and not give off a single clue to the guy she visited within hours, to her family and friends upon returning home (what human being can do THAT??!!!) and the defense she has mounted all about abuse by both Travis and her parents (whom she threw under the bus, too), accusing him of pedophilia and completely trashing him (one wonders how much control she has wielded in creating the defense; hard to imagine the two lawyers saying to her “now this is how we have to do this because it was bad…really bad…and you admitted to it, blah, blah, blah.”) In the end, she is doing every single thing she threatened to do to blow apart his life by telling all his secrets (including a lot of made-up stuff, no doubt). It just happens to be after she butchered him to death, as well.
Well, guess I had plenty to say for a newbie on this site. Enjoyed the well thought out post and the equally observant comments.
But I don’t think I can look at those pics again, I find it so chilling and creepy. I just don’t know how people can look at the murder scene and autopsy photos. They say they are beyond gruesome.
And I absolutely can NOT understand what her family has gone thru. Beyond the heinous murder, they have had to listen to every detail of their brother’s sex life exposed to the world, the lies and the trashing. If Jodi could not humiliate Travis in life, she is doing it to him in the afterlife, and to his family who have no escape.

I really enjoyed reading your post! I agree with you…many people find it hard to reconcile what they are seeing when they look at Jodi Arias and what she has done. Her family and close friends are probably the EXCEPTIONS to that since they have most likely seen bizarre behaviors and also seen samples of her rage.
We are fascinated…imo by stalking behaviors in this country right now because they have only recently really come to light in the past 20 or 30 years.
This trial has reminded me of the film “Fatal Attraction” and how theaters were packed to maximum capacity when that movie first came out. Recently I watched another movie “Play Misty for Me” with Clint Eastwood and Jessica Walter…which came out in the 1960s and was the very first “stalking” movie that I can ever remember seeing.
In real life there was Rebecca Schaeffer (the actress from the TV show “My Sister Sam” who was murdered by a stalker Robert Bardot)…there was also the Caroline Warmus case and recently I watched Paula Zahn’s show and was reminded of the Shawna Nelson case.
Shawna Nelson was a dispatcher at the same precinct where her married lover worked. She got pregnant and wanted him to get a divorce and instead he ended the affair. She began stalking him and his wife…and approached the wife one night in a parking lot with a mask on and shot her.
The whole time Paula Zahn interviewed her…and confronted her with the overwhelming evidence…she looked straight into the camera and flat out lied.
I also believe we are fascinated yet repulsed by pathological LIARS in this country. By blatantly lying to interviewers and news cameras…Scott Peterson, Susan Smith and others make themselves more repulsive and bizarre.
Remember that guy Mark Hacking? He claimed his wife “disappeared” out jogging but later the police unraveled an elaborate web of lies that he had created out of his life.
His entire family thought he had been attending medical school and had graduated with honors. He was supposed to be moving to another state to start working at an internship for a big hospital. He and his wife had rented a house and were about to move when she got a phone call at work that her co-workers said was “extremely upsetting” and she had to leave.
She was never seen alive again.
Turns out he had squandered all of the money his parents had given him for school and lied every day about where he had been for years. All of his “honors” and “achievements” were lies.
This guy got on camera and cried and cried…”Oh boo hoo help me find my wife…this was supposed to be the happiest time of my life…I was supposed to start a new job…She just went out jogging and hasn’t come back…Whoa is me…”

Much like Jodi Arias…it is FREAKISH to say the very least to listen to her flat out LIE on the stand…thrilling in playing word games and oblivious to the LIE that we all see!
IMO people like her have been lying their entire lives and getting away with it and anyone who would do what she did…has hurt someone before.
I do think that Travis became “addicted” to the sex because he had not really “gotten around”…even by the time he was in his 20s…but I also think he saw it for what it was rather quickly and realized that he wanted more from a relationship then what he had with Jodi Arias…like someone that could be a mother to his kids…and that was NOT her.
At some point he did realize that she was needy, psychotic, clingy, freaky, manipulative and a whole bunch of other things that ruined the sex for him and eventually repulsed him.
I think he DID NOT want to have sex with her that night. IMO by that time he wasn’t “into her” at ALL anymore and she full well knew it. I think she did disgust him and he wanted her to go away.
JIMO she wrapped her whole identity up in being “Travis’s girlfriend” and “Travis’s wife.” When he rejected her I think she “flipped” as Dr. D has stated on the stand and all that ‘love” turned to hatred and rage. She needed him…was NEEDY when she met him and he was killing her future…her identity…he was murdering her dreams and hopes for a family and a happy life.
She couldn’t go on living with him in the world. She didn’t want him to be happy in any way. She could only go on with her life…if he was dead. She would always be wondering where he was and who he was with and she couldn’t go on living that way. I really believe in her mind it was him or her. She needed to destroy him completely.
To me her hatred for him still comes through in her continued attempts to destroy him in court. He’s not dead enough for her. She can’t stop killing him…her hatred for him is that strong.
I think the thing that scares me about those photos the most is that he does not seem comfortable AT ALL in any of those photos and I will say his body looks TENSE in the photos where his back is to her. JIMHO he didn’t want sex with her AT ALL that night…and did not want her there at all.
He looks like he is feeling uneasy about the whole thing. he looks like he has picked up on her weirdness and knows that she is up to something.
We already know he ends up on the ground and bleeding in a matter of minutes after that photo.
I believe he KNEW Golby. He knew something was very wrong with all of it. He felt the danger and the hatred she had for him that night. He knew something was up but thought he could overtake her if she tried anything. His head doesn’t look relaxed in any of those photos…like he’s listening and keeping an eye out on the side for her to do something so he can grab her and stop her…and I think that’s what he planned to do…stop her.
I don’t think he ever expected the rage that came out of her.
Just the fact that she took those photos shows that she wanted to gloat over the fact that he would not be around to make her life miserable anymore and he got what he deserved.
I do think that’s why she attacks him still and continues to destroy him…
instead of blaming herself for where she is…she still blames Travis for everything. To her…he is still making her life miserable.

I’ve wondered whether she’d dropped in uninvited, or was actually anticipated to arrive, that night/early am. In spite of her 14 calls to him after having left Yreka on her murder roadtrip & his 2 or 3 brief calls in reply, I don’t think she was invited – I think she gave him the same story she was telling other men whom she’d manipulated out of their cash in order to finance her trip (that she was out to take pics of Darryl’s sister’s baby & her ultimate destination was PPL function in Salt Lake City) including some poor schmuck customer from Yreka, her BFF-Matt McCartney, & Darryl Brewer (who should be counting his lucky stars she obsessed over Travis before she’d left Darryl & didn’t kill him & his son after she was done using him) . Travis might’ve known she might be traveling through AZ to get to UT, but might not’ve anticipated her “dropping in” to sleepover.
However, her meticulously planned murder called for her to ambush him naked (thus defenseless, vulnerable, & off-guard) within the confines of that small shower (thus restricting his range of motion to defend or repell her attack, & flee) , & the only way to ensure that shower would occur was a scenario involving sex, & the use of KY, whether it was simply to apply to Travis’ body in a hand job or Jodi’s preference for anal sex ,would certainly ensure that shower without arousing suspicion (bad pun, I know!) .
Her homicide plan had to occur in this narrowing window of time, simply because Travis’ waning interest in her & increasingly serious interest in Mimi Hall might not result in their having sex any longer, & that was a necessary element for her to be able to get the edge over him to kill him. I think this is the basis for the “desperation” that the schmuck in Yreka & her BFF Matt McCartney in the Monterrey area claimed she exuded when she manipulated money/help out of them- she was afraid she’d lose what she perceived as her narrow window of opportunity.
I do think she let herself into his home that early am, & spied on him watching Youtube music videos at his computer in his home office. How creepy is that ? ! But being Travis, he didn’t throw her out. In fact, the crime scene pics show things in his bathroom that Travis could’ve used to repel her attack such as his 2 bathroom scales, or even slamming her against the wall across from the shower itself while attempting to commandeer the knife away from her, but that he didn’t do … even while he had to know he was severely wounded (actually mortally wounded in the aorta), he still didn’t have it in him to hurt that evil bitch. I only wish Juan Martinez had made that point to the jury in the penalty phase.

No doubt in my mind that she took the pics of him in the shower to copy those she’d seen in the shower murder scene from the Hitchcock thriller, Psycho. She’s a big movie buff, after all, as we all know from Nurmi’s constant playing of that recorded phone sex tape & from JVM’s nightly replaying of that tape ever since Nurmi played it in the courtroom (ugh!). Combine that with Fatal Attraction, & this case is like a Quentin Tarantino-style patchwork horror film.

~Good Morrow Linda and all you wonderful Voices4Justice~ The family of Travis Alexander have had to endure much and have done so with far more grace and dignity then I could muster in their circumstances. Caught in the vortex of a nightmare that continues to swirl about them they have remained unwavering and RESOLUTE. The unrelenting character assassination of Travis did not bow or break them. Instead over the course of the trial we saw them lift their chin a little higher. When I saw their faces after hearing LaViolette tilt the world with her incongruous assessment that made Travis the perpetrator and Jodi the victim I wanted to reach through the screen and snatch what little hair she has off her head. In this I know that I am not alone. Watching them hear LaViolette’s pronouncement and try to take it in was like seeing someone trying to shake off a blow to the head that leaves them temporarily stunned. The observers in the gallery surrounding the Alexander family all had varying degrees of incredulity written on their faces as they too tried to process what they were hearing in an, “Can I possibly be hearing this right?”, astonishment. Whether for 30 pieces of silver or 300 per, when the devil is buying LaViolette is proof that there will always be those selling. In this instance I think the devil overpaid. May God continue to lift up the family of Travis Alexander and apply his loving peace as balm to their sorely afflicted hearts.

I have been paying such close attention to his family and just can’t imagine the “horror show” they have been living for the past 5 years since this happened.
Talk about a nightmare of a human being. To have to sit there in court and look at this MONSTER would be more then I could take.

Jodi Arias continues to murder Travis Alexander…and we the tax payers are paying for this. It is a joke!
The only thing that I find comfort in is the fact that this jury sounds so intelligent and so fed up as well…that it is restoring some of my faith in the system.
It is absolutely outrageous that we give a murder defendant the chance to re-victimize the family, the victim and society on this kind of scale.
I feel so sorry for this family I am beside myself. If it was me…I would have already leapt across the gallery and thrown acid or anything I could smuggle in the courthouse… on her as she sat there smirking. I don’t think I could have stopped myself.
I do pray and send good thoughts towards them every day.
I hope when this is all over they can write a book and help other victims in Travis’s name. We need more stalking laws!!!

I do think everything happens for a reason but sometimes it is very hard to see.
She is a twisted terrible monster. Maybe people now will realize the signs when they meet someone like her. She is evil to the core and has people with low morals and low standards just like Casey anthony…sometimes I really do hate our system of justice.

Hi Joanne…As I remember the prosecution’s exhibit…which had everything outlined and hi-lited…the camera has fallen down by her feet…and snapped a photo when that happened.
Here is a better picture…and you can actually see the stitching in the hem in her pants…that are in the foreground. Since this is obviously an accidental photo…it is somewhat hard to figure out…
but it looks to me like she has him by the neck or the arms and he might still be alive and trying to resist because you can see his neck and his shoulders on the ground…but his arms…look raised somehow. His arms look like they are up in the air…and honestly….and this is freaking me out right now…

Joanne…just put that photo in photoshop and lightened it…worked with it a bit to try and bring out some detail and this is what I came up with…even freakier. I think in the lightened version it looks like his head is lifted up off the ground…(I couldn’t tell in the darker version) You can see the blood all over the place in the lightened version…better then you can the darker one…so scary!

Linda you did a GREAT, FANTASTIC, OUTSTANDING job with this!!! I always thought that it was a knife in that photo (5:30:30). This case has touched the hearts, minds, and souls of many people. I’m hoping and praying the jury will see through the “fog of lies” and convict Jodi.
Linda and Kim…I think your ideas are good, but I don’t think that’s what happened. Dr. Drew’s guest, Randolph Beasley, showed a photo compilation of Travis sitting down in the shower, but the head shot was included; I think this is the correct posture. I think she had Travis sit – she was ordering him around because by this time she had revealed the weapon (knife)…he crossed/folded his legs to cover his vulnerable area…he’s trying to keep his hands free to protect himself…she stabs him once in the chest as he was grabbing for the knife…she expected this to incapacitate him…but he was able to get up on his knees…she keeps stabbing…he makes it to sink and is coughing up blood…he tries to run away down hall…and makes it part way, but she has grabbed the gun from maybe an overnight bag close by (which she brought as backup weapon-but she prefers knife because it’s more personal)…he has collapsed on floor of hall just as he was making it to the threshold…she stands over him and points gun…he turns face away instinctively…she shoots…he stops struggling…she pulls his head up by hair…slashes his throat (how DARE YOU think you can get away from me!)…and by this time she’s shaking with an adrenaline rush…bullet casing gets caught up in the dragging process as she pulls him into bathroom…and then she cleans up her handiwork.
That’s my story; ’cause I’m not buying any of hers!
Dr.Drew’s guest last night said exactly what I have been saying since I saw the photos: She ambushed him in the shower, shot him with her left hand & he turned away fm the gun causing the bullet to go thru his face and not his head. The gun jammed. The bullet did not kill him. As he tried to get up.. staggering like the linebacker (he words) she kept stabbing him as he tried to get away until he made his way to the hall.

I saw that Kim…and I think he explained the bleeding issue quite well.
It DOES make sense that she would use the gun first and the only reason I thought it was probably otherwise was because the medical examiner said that the wound didn’t cause any bleeding…and that indicates that the bullet came after or close to death.
But that guy last night explained that that the bullet didn’t penetrate any tissue that would cause any bleeding and the way I took it…the VELOCITY of the bullet (because the gun was so old and out of shape)…was another factor in the type of wound that was caused by the bullet.
Explains the aspirations…although…I did think the stab wounds explained the aspirations as well.
But I think what you said makes perfect sense and there’s something else…
If you look…you can always find a grain of truth here and there in a liars statement because it makes it a lot easier for them to remember their lies if they can navigate their way though them using their own memory of the incident.
Accomplished liars RE-ARRANGE the truth…and place their SERIOUS lies in between chunks of the truth…so it’s easier to keep straight in their heads and it sounds more credible.
She has said a lot of things about the gun in her testimony that fit with your scenario.
“If someone was pointing a gun at me I would stop”
She even indicates in her LIE that she went for the gun FIRST and IMO she did that because she felt the evidence would substantiate that fact and make her sound more credible…bet it threw her for a loop when the photo showed the casing OVER the blood.

Also…the bullet on TOP of the blood stain. She was ADAMANT that it was NOT on top. She was so SURE of that and SMIRKED when he said that.

Real life got in my way, thus my absence. I’m still behind in reading all the posts and I’m excited that I’ll have the time to read back to catch up, which I’ll have time for tomr!
The current expert’s testiphony infuriates me. She has represented true and real victims of horrific experiences with domestic violence.
LaViolette disclosed that she is being paid $250.00 an hour for research and $300.00 per hour for court appearances. She spent 40 hours speaking with Jodi and we still do not know the total hours of research that she charged for but she mentioned that she watched all of the unedited 48 hours video which was a lot of hours besides reading all of JA’s journals, tapes from JA’s family tesiphony and a lot of the states discovery.
She has testified in 16 to 18 trials for the defense and 9 trials for the state. She said that in the cases that she turned down, it was either a case where she didn’t feel there was enough evidence to merit her participation, or she simply didn’t have enough time in her schedule to commit the amount of time necessary. She was interviewed and retained by the Arias defense team in late September or early October of 2011. She initially seemed genuine, honest and prepared but I still was wary.
It appears that LaViolette provided expert witness testimony for Brenda Clubine, a woman who was convicted of 2nd degree murder for killing her abusive husband, Robert. Clubine served 26 years of a 16 year to life sentence but in 2008, Clubine was released due to a successful “habeus” petition. Her conviction was vacated and she instead was allowed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 7 years – she was released for time served.
At the time of her trial in 1984, the “battered women’s syndrome” wasn’t legally accepted in self defense arguments in the state of California. Clubine suffered a great deal of physical injuries at the hands of her husband, including a fractured skull, shattered jaw, broken collarbone and cracked ribs. Brenda Clubine filed more than 42 police reports against her husband for battery, and was seeking a divorce at the time of the killing. Clubine wasn’t able to introduce her medical records of police reports during her trial, because the abuser wasn’t there to defend himself. Any witnesses to the violence were not allowed to testify due to “hearsay” issues.
During her time in prison, Clubine co-founded “Convicted Women Against Abuse”, and teamed with Olivia Klaus and filmed a documentary called “Sin by Silence”, which tells Clubine’s story and the story of countless others who remain behind bars. Clubine continues to be an advocate for abused women.
Clearly that case differs from the Jodi Arias case. I had been searching for information on the other cases where LaViolette contributed and stumbled onto this one, so I hastily put this together while listening to the courtroom testimony. My apologies that the information isn’t more detailed – more on this to come!
It will never compute for me why she made the decision to basically sell out for the money and national exposure. Regardless of how many MSM outlets praise her accolades and “folksy style” on the stand, she is knowingly misrepresenting the facts to benefit this dangerous psychopath to attempt to fool the jury into giving a sentence of 2nd degree or manslaughter. Shame on her!
I no more believe that Travis was a “deviant” sexually or otherwise then I believe that he gave her ANY reason to fear for her life. Just more of her self serving lies.
The letter that JW was getting ALV to “summarize” yesterday, the judge long ago had previously ruled was not admissible and is not in evidence.
It infuriates me that she is allowing this testiPHONY but have no fear! Sky Hughes is listed on Martinez’ rebuttal list and he will make it crystal clear to the jury through the questions that he poses to Sky what this is all about.
Nurmi LIED to Sky & Chris Hughes and this letter, that Alyce is summarizing in her testiphony is a PHONY letter. And Alyce knows this but this is what the defense has paid her for! Strategy!!!
Travis never wrote this letter. If you review Chris Hughes testimony from back in Jan – about the 10th trial day – he basically admitted to Nurmi in open court that he had referred to Nurmi as ‘a lying snake’ in a conversation that he had had with another snake, Gus Scercy.
Chris also adamantly testified that the letter was a total fake, even though Nurmi lied in open court and stated that a hand writing analyst had confirmed that Travis wrote it.
The whole defense strategy is despicable. Jodi has testified to the Domestic Violence, so there is already evidence of DV before the jury. Now, Jodi is a liar extraordinaire, so the jury might choose to disbelieve her. Hopefully.
And Alyce is going to say (probably) that Jodi’s behavior is consistent with that of a victim of DV, and that a reasonable victim of DV would have interpreted Travis’s alleged “body slam” on June 4 as requiring a response with deadly force.
The reason for trying to prove this is that, Arizona has a special self-defense law for victims of DV. If you are a victim of DV, your response to an attack is judged by how a reasonable victim of DV would react, rather than how a “reasonable person” would react.
ONE BIG PROBLEM.
Jodi never SAID during her testiphony that she interpreted Travis’ attack as requiring a response with deadly force. She said she never intended to shoot him at all, and thought the gun was unloaded!
She believed that his actions justified a “scaring him off with a gun he would have known was unloaded” response, not a “shooting him in the head response.”
So, I’m hopeful that Juan will object to her testifying to how a reasonable DV victim would respond since Jodi never claimed to have responded that way. Frankly, I hope he objects to her testimony in its entirety as irrelevant, for the same reason.
This trial, and especially this witness, is exhausting me. Why this poppycock is allowed is beyond me. It’s not only a waste of time but for those being paid by the hour it’s very profitable. Why is the judge allowing the constant repitition? Please God, let there be justice for this young man who is being slaughtered all over again, and some peace for his family.
I agree paula! I don’t even watch the defense present their side anymore…that’s when I vacume or get my laundry done. I keep the sound off and look at the screen occasionally to see if Martinez is up yet…
but I would not make a good jury in this case and feel very sorry for them having to listen to all of this rubbish.
Let’s just hope they have more morals then the group of nimwits and crooks that sat in the Anthony trial…they sound very smart…and very tired of this as well.
I also feel terrible for this family having to deal with this MONSTER who wormed her way into their brother’s darkest thoughts and led him to his own death…they must feel like they are the victims of some sort of “chemical spill” or some kind of man made abomination.

It was great spending time with you ladies today …It made all the BS in court easier to handle.My heart is a bit heavy after hearing all that LV said today and making Travis look so bad…I wonder if she scored points for the defense..the talking heads sure seem to think so.I know Juan will turn everything she said to the prosecutions advantage but I can’t help still feeling a bit down.I do believe this is the 1st time the defense scored.Juan just has to hit it out of the park next week. I feel SO upset over LV! 35 yrs. ago I was in a women’s shelter with my 3 little children. It’s a long story but I was stalked all the way from WA state to Tennessee where my parent’s were. I was with my abuser for only 18 mos. but sometimes I still have nightmares – not to mention my children and how it has affected their lives. I spent 6 mos. in the hospital in 1983 for PSTD before it became a catch phrase. Doctors because eardrum broken, nose broken, etc. you get the picture.
What is interesting is that though I will be forever grateful to the women’s shelter in Bellingham, WA (they actually had to hide us on a voluteer’s farm in B.C. Canada across the border) …they helped me escape.
Back to interesting…..we want to stop the cycle of men abusing women…so we try & teach our daughters so that it does not happen to them. I have 2 sons and one daughter in the middle. I NEVER in my life thought the cycle would be perpetuated through my youngest son. Last year he moved in with a bi=polar woman (legally diagnosed & anyway that is another long story) & so she beat the crap out of him on a regular basis. He came to Xmas dinner & everyone asked him why he couldn’t pick up his fork & what was wrong with his finger – well he lied to cover up. Later it turns out she smashed a hot metal heater onto his hand. We all saw within a 3 month period he had 3 black eyes & we’ve never seen him with one ever.
So what happened was that we eventually learned that she she was always threatening him with “I can put you in jail any time I want to if you don’t do what I want you to do”. One night during one of her bi-polar episodes (and not on her state mandated medication) she threw herself on the floor beating with all fours screaming “he’s hitting me” until the neighbors called the cops. In Wa state they take the man no matter what – even though they took pictures of all his injuries! If anyone cares to look there are story after story about battered men in this state who get put in jail even though the partner stabbed them, etc. So he goes to jail, spend 5 1/2 months there all because son refused to plea bargain anything. He just got out a couple of months ago and ended up with assault charges because he “attacked” her with a BLANKET to keep her from sucker punching him in the face again & left bruises on her wrists! My sons blood was all over the apt. = we took pictures!
So then…way back when I was in Bellingham Women’s shelter —– his girlfriend’s lawyer demanded proof that my son had background in abuse. The abuse that happened to me was when he was 6 yrs. old. I feel so guilty because I picture my ex picking him up by the collar & slamming him against the wall screaming in his face. Picture in my mind of my abuser throwing him across the room at 6 yrs of age!
So I am getting to why I am so DISGUSTED with ALYCE! My son’s prosecutor demanded proof that we were ever in the battered women’s shelter. Well it took me & daughter about 6 hrs. going through storage boxes because I remembered that back in 1983 that women’s shelter had a newsletter & I wrote my story and they published it – I was even asked to speak. So I called the women shelter in Bellingham & found out they onlyl keep records for 15 years. I said on the phone & email – hey I have records of newsletters, my story & everything you lost back in the 80′s. They said oh hey we would just love to have those for our archives since all our records are destroyed.
So I spent 3 days SCANNING all the newsletters I had, my story they published. They acted all supportive. But you know, after I told them I needed nfo for my son’s court case being a battered MAN, they shut the fuck up! Became totallyl unsupportive..made sure they didn’t email me ANY communication (because that is a legal document) and made sure all out communications were by phone only. I didn’t catch on until I figured out why they were not responding to ANY emails = phone only.
Talk about one of the biggest disappointment in my life! The women’s shelter would not back me up – they gladly took all the days of scanning I did to help them publish lost newsletters..but when it comes to MEN – forget about it! It was like a slap in the face! And that’s exactly how I feel about LV. She is slapping me and all other REAL battered women in the face for $$$$$ – I don’t give a chit how “renowned” she & her books are.
The basic fact is that Battered Women advocates want all the govt. funding in my view – no one else cares about battered men. There is practically NOTHING for battered men. CAnada is more up on this issue & the US is so far behind. The closest battered mens group in WA state is about 5 hours away…. I admire Canada on this issue as my daughter & I have done tons of research. The battered women ppl must continue to speak out so as to keep their govn’t funding but hey don’t talk about battered men – they’ll fluck you over like they did me/us when I needed them the most.
SO that is why I’ve lost ALL RESPECT for Mrs. Alyce – it’s all about the dollars!
I’ve never invested my time so much in a trial online..but this one really hits me in the gut. I rarely talk about the abuse me & my kids went through because after 30+ years it’s still painful. I STILL to this day have nightmares. It does not control my life anymore. My experience has only helped me to become more understanding of others. Even in my lowly job as apartment manager (and yes I’ve had to deal with tenants and DV!) I know that I have an effect on others.
I considered writing LV but I think it would be useless. She is bought & paid for by Jodi! EFF U LV!
And PS – my son’s abuser got a restraining order against him. I mange our apt. building and the is no smoking so we walk across the street to smoke outside but yet she drives by a few times a week even though she lives in another county!! Son is afraid because all she has to do is come within 500 ft. & call 911. He can’t even go outside to have a smoke here!
You are a very strong person catbird and I truly understand your feelings about your dislike etc.for LV.And I agree with you on the crappy laws in WA concerning men always getting the shaft..a family member of mine’s son was jailed for a few months all because his now ex-wife called the cops on him for grabbing her wrist(reflex)when she was trying to wake him up to get ready for work..it was NEVER his intention to bruise her wrist but the law didnt see it tht way. It was all not fair,but nothing like what your son has gone thru.I am so glad you are safe now,and of course ,you are going to still think about your past..but know this..it was NOT your fault.And on the B’ham shelter thing..isn’t there anything that can be done to have the state check into the documents thing? That is totallyNOT right.

At this point Arias’ birth time is unknown but astrologers are asking if anyone has any information, so we can’t know what houses any of her planets are in, her rising sign, etc. unless someone were to rectify her chart but then again you would need the times of important events throughout her life to do that (well we know of at least one!).
However we do know the exact time of the murder so I would be interested in viewing an astrological analysis for the time for that event as well as more on a synastry chart analysis between Travis & Jodi or a comparison of the two charts. Now if anyone thinks I’m obsessed LOL & why I love to research & dig my Mercury is conjunct Pluto within 15 seconds. Hilde-Hi!! Agree,this jury seems more serious about doing their civic duty,unlike the Pinellaspinheads. To this day,I’m still outraged they only deliberated 11 hours for a trial that had 300+ pieces of evidence. If JA does get LWOP,I hope it drives her crazy!!

Seems so simple, that Duct Tape ALONE was enough to send that tramp to Death Row, if I had been on that jury once I heard about the Duct Tape (and SAW the photos of Caylee’s skull wrapped up in THREE OVERLAPPING LAYERS), that would have been it for me, there would have been no going back after seeing that.
The tramp was counting on the fact that Caylee’s bagged-up remains would NEVER be found, so no one would ever know what she did.
Then all that outrage after Caylee’s remains WERE found (and her RAGE towards Kronk for finding Caylee, not to mention Bozo’s rage and his determination to pin Kronk with the murder), her panic over that discovery, and STILL that jury let her go.
I know I’m repeating myself, but I will NEVER get over that Duct Tape, the most evil thing I have ever heard.
I have faith in this jury based on their questions. To do what she did, was inexcusable,deliberate and malacious. She killed Travis out of jealousy and rage,their is no way this was done in self-defense. Let’s hope the jury sees the supposed self-defense was “AFTER” she stabbed him in the shower. It was after that when Travis uttered those words,”I’m going to kill you you effing bycth”. She attacked him while he was in a vulnerable position and not able to defend himself. All he could do was crawl on his hand and knees to escape her attack,but,sadly wasn’t able to. The photos speak a thousand words in showing how this tragedy occured. I remember someone mentioning the camera was around her neck, never landed on the floor. So much evil. Also Lifetime is making a movie, already. According to everything that I’ve been able to piece together, Travis won the Cancun trip through work. He didn’t have actual TICKETS, but made reservations. Jodi was taken OFF his reservation, when she left in April, for Yreka. April was also when she first asked Dale for the gas cans!!! One of Travis’s close friends said that on June 2nd, the day that Jodi began her road trip, Travis had sent her a SCATHING e-mail, the night before. Telling her to stay out of his life FOREVER!! It FRIGHTENED his friend!! He told Travis….”Aren’t you AFRAID, that she might HURT you?!”

Hey Jersey, Wow, that does look like a knife tip on the right side botton corner of the shower floor pic! She took the pic with her left hand while holding the knife in her right, she had to have been squatting down at that point! I can only imagine the crazy things she was saying to him at that time as well. It is so disturbing!
I was looking at that pic again with him on the shower floor, that is the drain not blood near is buttock. But i still see a stab wound in his chest, his arms were definately up in a defensive stance and i think that is why he crossed his legs as well. He had to have been completely stunned at that point. I think he got up to get out of the shower after that pic, and recieved the defensive stab wounds on his hands while he was making it over to the sink. It is obvious that she waited to get him in the shower, a vulnerable position for him, act like she is taking pics, then went Psycho on him.

I just got chills…. if you look at the pic of him sitting on the shower floor you can see the stab wound just to the right of his nipple ( the middle of his chest where that main artery is) and if you look down around his right thigh, butt area on the shower floor there is blood! It looks that way to me. The ME said that he thinks that is where Travis was stabbed first, that main artery in the middle of his chest. That first blow alone would of knocked him to the ground and would of killed him within a few minutes. He would of bled out profusely. I think that is when he got out of the shower went to the sink where he coughed up blood and Jodi proceeded to stab him in the back, he then feel again to the floor on all fours crawling away. She continued stabbing him in his back and back of his head. Then she slit his throat from behind when he was still on his hands and knees! I hope this diabolical, evil bitch gets the Death Penalty!

Question for you . Isn’t it true that body weight is doubled after death? I was watching the re enactment(on HLN) of Travis’s body being dragged down the hall and put in the shower.The gal was the same height and weight as Jodi…The gal had no problem with dragging the mannequin,and it was the same size and weight that Travis was.And that got me to thinking about the dead weight issue.I am sure that Jodi was having a huge adrenaline rush at the time of the murder so it was probably no big deal for her to drag his body down the hall to the shower.

I’ve looked at these photos many times & wondered why – at 5:30:30 – Travis is apparently sitting in the shower.

Jersey…this is exactly why I went to such trouble to weed out the photos that were on that camera…and separate the photos taken at the time of the murder from the crime scene photos taken by police.
I wanted to put them in the proper order with time codes and watch the series of events unfold.
IMO she is fumbling for the knife. The medical examiner states emphatically that the knife was used first and considering the shell casing (on top of the blood) I accept that.
IMO all of those dark and fuzzy photos are set on “automatic”…and the reason she wants him with his back to her is so she can get the knife in her hands and be poised to surprise him.
She set the camera on “auto” so that Travis would think she was still taking pictures as she fumbled for the knife (jimho)…that’s why the pictures look the way they do…she’s not focused on taking them…
she just needs for Travis to THINK she is taking them.
But IMO he KNOWS something is wrong and is continually moving around out of nervousness. JIMO he senses she is up to something and he doesn’t like having his back to her for very long or his face in the water…and those are the positions that she keeps telling him to get in…

Hi dancehappy…I don’t know what he was angry about…but there seems to be an indication that she left a sexy message on another guy’s facebook page (among other things) and from the timeline these texts came right during the time they were “breaking up.”
Another thing I heard Friday on JVM is that Travis had JODI’S name on the other ticket for Cancun and at the last minute CHANGED it to the new girl!!!
I had already made these graphics and didn’t add that event on the calendar…
but I am wondering if that didn’t happen right after this text exchange and she then went ballistic when she found out that he was taking someone else to Cancun and that was the thing that tipped it over the edge?
JVM talked for a long time about how explosive that fact was…and over the weekend I watched back to back episodes of “Stalked: Someone’s Watching”…and there were several women stalkers that were profiled.
Dr. Ward stated 2 things that I found interesting:
1) Jealousy is like adding gasoline to the fire when it comes to stalking behaviors. When ever there is another woman (or man) added into the mix…a stalker will go ballistic. The behaviors will escalate.
2) That it was too bad society and law enforcement did not recognize how dangerous women stalkers are. that they are every bit as dangerous as men and maybe even more because people don’t expect that kind of violence from women.
Don’t know if Juan Martinez has the info about the texts and the plane ticket to Cancun…but would think he does…don’t know if they were admitted into evidence in this trial.

IMO this is why so many people are captivated by this case…the same reason that they are fascinated by all the new TV shows on “stalking” and the same reason they filled the theaters in the 1980s to see the movie “Fatal Attraction.”
People see themselves as making this mistake. I bet every single person can look back on someone they went out with or even knew casually and almost dated… that turned out to be a weirdo.
Dr. Drew said he went to a basketball game not that long ago and Coby Bryant kept coming up to him and pumping him for information about this case. Dr. Drew said that Bryant told him he was obsessed with the trial!
I bet he’s met so many women that he’s looking back on now and thanking his lucky stars he had body guards etc…because at the time he didn’t take them seriously and now he’s probably thinking back and realizing how lucky he was!

Many people think that she was holding a gun or a knife on him in the shower but I don’t. I don’t think she NEEDED to do that. He was that NICE…and she KNEW it! She knew that she didn’t have to do anything but call at the 11th hour and say that she was “in the area” and “needed her SS card”…for a JOB or something else important…and that he would agree to let her come over. I d think she was fumbling with the gun and the knife during the “photo session”…for 2 reasons:
1) She wanted him vulnerable
2) She wanted the pictures of it…she liked the autopsy photos shown in court and couldn’t stop herself from looking every time…she wanted those photos imo
By the way Kyla…don’t you think she left that SS card over there on purpose so she would have a reason to come back? I do. A ss card is something important. Why would you even have it in your possession when you leave the house…much less take it out at somebody else’s house who lives in another state? It doesn’t make sense…unless you wanted a good…and I mean really good excuse to come back later.
Jimo he was NICE and she knew it. He would not say no to that. Maybe even he REJECTED her sexual advances….and was NO LONGER “sexually attracted” to her!!! I don’t necessarily buy her story about them having sex. Crawling through the doggie door is not sexy. NEEDY is not sexy. Tire slashing is not sexy. These things are NOT sexy.
My guess is that she had already been rejected before on a lesser scale. In other words…her other BFs were street wise and didn’t put up with her psycho BS because they had probably met other girls like her before and weren’t nice. I bet she was unceremoniously DUMPED by all of them before she decided to go for a more Christian kind of guy…who wouldn’t get wise so fast.
IMO Travis fit the bill…but it was a double edged sword.
It went on much longer then the other relationships did because he was sexually inexperienced and loved the “adventure” (as she knew he would and wanted that in a man)…and…and this is key…he was NICE…but SHE got more attached as well.
I bet her other BFs weren’t so nice about dumping her…but by being nice he got her hopes up. The longer it went on the more she got her hopes up.
He wasn’t like her other BFs. He wasn’t going to tell her to F off…UNTIL…”something” happened.
I would love to know what that “something” was too. The only people who know are never going to tell. One can’t…and one never will…but I would like to know too. Seems like it’s not sex with another guy or he would have said.
I have said it 1000 times. This woman is exactly like a shark or a wild gorilla. She is extremely dangerous to anyone around her. This is definitely first degree murder…in the WORST way.
Some don’t…but I believe in the DP. I disagree with the way our system is set up though. I believe that when the evidence reaches a certain level in a first degree murder case the DP should be implemented.
This is a perfect example of such a case. There is NO DOUBT who did this.

I really appreciate your post…some cases are just so disturbing…some defendants are so repugnant…that you do think about it for the rest of your life and are freaked out by the simple fact that these people exist.
That could just as easily been one of Travis’s friends! It could have been someone he just met and she felt threatened. It could have been anyone for any reason because only her malignant brain has the answer as to who’s tires get slashed and who’s throat get slashed.
She is very dangerous and I worry for Juan… even with her in prison…I think she could try and do something.

I agree most of what you said here, and I want to add. She used sex to connect with him during their time together. That final day when he wasn’t touching her(you know he didn’t go for sex, and just because they have naked picture record, that is not the proof they had sex). If you see crime picture that shows she is naked, you can see how fire on her eyes. They were not the just had sex face. On top of all the things upsetting(the break up, texts contents etc., being rejected sexual advance is far worse humiliation, slap in the face, and insult even to Jodi(you know what I mean, the woman don’t have shame up until that point), Ah! that is what drove her rage of worst kind. She was accepting the break up but she missed him(sexually and attachment issue), so she has tried one more time for chance of reconnect. But all that was clear to her that he is truly finished with her. Do you know after kill him, next day she ran to another man(former boy friend?), and had wild sex with him. Its psychology , when one gets rejection by one, one run for the other, in this case she did exact that. Sadly , Travis was too nice and felt for this lady until the end, of his last day. Fell for tric one final.

I don’t believe they had sex either…IMO that was the LAST thing he wanted. She had LOST her ability to control him via sex (and she knew it) and that infuriated her and insulted her like you said.
I will never believe that Travis was that weak. By now I bet he was repulsed at the idea of sex with her. Everything out of her mouth should be considered a lie until it is proven beyond all doubt to be true. If there’s no proof then it’s a lie. Plain and simple.
Bet she’d like to re-write history for the world to think that he wanted to have sex with her when I would bet he was SICK of her by that time…so sick he couldn’t have sex with her if he tried.
It’s just my opinion but I don’t believe that they had sex either.
Maybe she walked in on him with the camera in the shower and bullied her way in there taking photos of him even? I am not even sure he agreed to allow the photos. He looks uncomfortable as hell in those photos…he’s looking over his shoulder when he has his back to her…look at the angle of his neck. He is tense and wary…imo he doesn’t trust her and he knows she is up to something but doesn’t know what it is. I don’t think he had a clue she was going to butcher him the way she did but he looks in those photos like he can FEEL something is up.
I imagine this happens all the time in fatal relationships…people don’t think the worst is going to happen until it is far too late. They psycho has the advantage in that THE DO KNOW what is going to happen while the other person is still giving them credit for being human enough not to kill.
But by the time they realize their mistake it’s too late.
It only takes that one time and as you said…he was just too nice to her and probably felt bad for her in a way…never saw it coming until it was too late.
