First of all a message to the local Phoenix reporter who was part of the very problem he complained about…spreading his face all over “Dateline” this weekend:
Michael Kiefer…you don’t get to take away my first amendment rights plain and simple and that’s just something you are going to have to learn to live with.
Here’s a fact: In America, when people put their faces on TV, whether testifying in a trial or by turning trials into entertainment and appearing on episodes of “Dateline” …ahem…(where you complain about trials being turned into entertainment and blame everyone else)…
if you decide you want to stick your head out there and speak publicly in any open forum, people have the constitutional right to express their opinion about, not only what you just said, but how you looked when you said it and anything else they noticed about it.
I had the misfortune of watching the revised version of the “Dateline” entitled “Obsession: The Jodi Arias Story” and could not believe my eyes and my ears when a local Arizona Reporter name Michael Kiefer was interviewed and actually got on national television and blamed the public for turning trials into “entertainment.” As if it’s the public who get together regularly and create the marketing strategies and put together expensive animations and special graphics to promote the “Jodi Arias Trial” as entertainment. I guess Michael Kiefer wants to blame the public for other offensive garbage such as “Dateline” with his face all over it.
What utter balderdash.
It is the media and ONLY the media who have been turning live trials into “entertainment” and guess what else Michael Kiefer, they do it for money. Get off your high horse Michael Kiefer and quit trying to put the blame for the crap that the media has been producing…on a weary and nauseated public. It was your face I saw on “Dateline” this weekend sitting as a talking head, on a contrived entertainment show, about a current trial, that is still in the penalty phase.
I would like to know where Michael Kiefer has been for the past 4 years while the public has been actively boycotting the media for exactly that reason?
Michael Kiefer would take away the right of domestic violence victims offended by Alyce LaViolette and angered from having a whole movement thrown under the bus by her testimony during this trial, the right to express themselves.
Don’t you just hate it when the constitution protects free speech and you don’t like the feedback you are getting from your presentation? If only Michael Kiefer and Alyce LaViolette could quiet the opinions they don’t like the world would be perfect for Michael Kiefer and Alyce LaViolette.
However the rest of us would be slitting our own wrists.
If only Michael Kiefer could blame the public for their darn opinions, instead of the media for their over the top, tabloid coverage. I don’t recall creating the disgusting parade of productions that have been polluting the airways for the past 4 years. What I remember is boycotting them. Michael Kiefer want’s everyone to ignore the fact the media is making millions, hawking and selling live trials as entertainment and blame the public instead so he can then absolve himself of any blame.
Michael Kiefer doesn’t want feedback unless it’s what he wants to hear.
Had I known that Michael Kiefer was going to be on Dateline, whining and accusing me of being responsible for the very tripe I have been screaming about for the past 4 years… I would have boycotted it and avoided seeing 50 shades of red.
It’s called the first amendment…and as much as Michael Kiefer would like to take it away from all of us…that’s never going to happen so maybe its about time Michael put on his big boy pants and grew up. Unfortunately for Michael Kiefer I have now been invited by the constitution of the United States to express my opinions on his television appearance. In effect…as a tax paying citizen living in America, I get to “review” what I saw….and he can’t stop me.
That’s the way it works. Opinion is protected under the first amendment and when people make public presentations, they themselves have invited the feedback. Case in point: Alyce LaViolette who threw all real DV victims under the bus for money… by throwing Jodi Arias into the same category as a victim. Absolutely outrageous and how bizarre and egotistical that this women, Alyce LaViolette only expects good reviews… and strategically plans to use the trial and the feedback from her testimony for her own financial benefit…
and is only outraged when it doesn’t go her way!
According to what I saw on Dateline, it’ ok with Michael Kiefer for live trials to be “entertainment” as long as it’s Michael Kiefer who is the subject of the interview and if the public doesn’t respond well to Alyce LaViolette’s attempts to mutilate the truth, at the expense of taxpayers…suddenly we need to lose the first amendment according to this fruit cake!
Complete nonsense spread indiscriminately by a person who hasn’t found his big boy pants yet. Michael Kiefer, along with his little friend Alyce LaViolette may be searching for those big pants, with stubborn discontent forever…
because we live in a country where people have the right to disagree with both of them. Before you get on the stand and testify under oath you better be telling the truth and if I am watching the trial live I get to asses your character if you chose to testify. It’s no one’s fault but Alyce LaViolette’s that she insulted an entire group of people (which by the way happens to be her core audience)…and threw them under the bus for money.
Alyce LaViolette threw away her own reputation when she decided to sell herself like a common street hooker for money and along the way trash real domestic violence victims by comparing them to a murdering psycho.
I can promise you one thing.
If the reaction to Ms. LaViolette’s testimony had been positive then you wouldn’t have heard a peep out of Michael Kiefer or LaViolette!
I have a giant newsflash for Michael Kiefer but then it won’t be a “newsflash” in the strict sense of the word will it? Because Michael Kiefer decided to OMIT the fact that 99% of the negative feedback on LaViolette’s Amazon page was from female domestic violence victims, who felt betrayed and offended by Alyce LaViolette’s comparing them in any way with the likes of Jodi Arias.
That pesky old constitution just ruins Michael Kiefer’s day every single time!
Something else that Michael Kiefer left out of his big TV appearance on Dateline…was the fact that Dateline is probably one of the biggest offenders, next to 48 Hours Mystery and HLN, for exploiting live trials! How Ironic Michael Kiefer’s face should be all over it complaining about…well…about himself!
Since Michael Kiefer really isn’t a female domestic violence survivor…I’m mildly curious as to what makes him think his opinion, as to the reactions of real DV victims (to LaViolette’s testimony), is relevant or matters in any way?
Never mind. I take that back. I’m not even mildly curious why he thinks his opinion on the subject matters. The voices of real DV victims have spoken via the first amendment and there’s nothing in the world criminal about that except inside of Michael Kiefer’s curious brain.
The voices of REAL DV victims have not been silenced by Michael Kiefer and Alyce LaViolette!
Her’s a fact. The statistics show quite clearly that as soon as something happens to one of Michael Kiefer’s family members or friends, his views about murder defendants and murder trials will radically change and he will do a 360. That’s a fact. The stats are out there and they are overwhelming.
For all his crybaby behavior on “entertainment trial shows” like Dateline, hawking misinformation and “scrambling” people’s brains with his pro killer/anti-first amendment agenda…he’s still going to have to get over it. The constitution is not going to change for Michael Kiefer.
Time to put on those big boy pants and grow up.
For every action there will be a reaction.
He’s going to have to learn, as most of us already have that you can be on TV and testify in all the trials you want to. You can lie and throw anyone you want to under the bus. You can go on national TV and say anything you want to…but expect a “reaction” and the free flow of expression in America. Especially in discussion forums that are designed specifically for such conversations. Imagine that. I’m sure Michael Kiefer would quickly pass laws against that…unless of course people were discussing things that Michael Kiefer approved of.
In other words the first amendment hurts. You speak. You show your face…expect feedback and don’t be surprised when people don’t like you or your views. Grow up and pray some psycho doesn’t shoot one your family members and get out of prison a year later with a sex change that you paid for. Be glad you’re not in those stats where people who suddenly find themselves victims inevitably do 360s…when the creeps who are filling our streets and laughing at our broken system land on their doorstep.
You might try getting your face out of the very shows you are complaining about as it makes you seem a giant hypocrite…
but one thing you will never do is take my first amendment rights away from me.
Hey Michael Kiefer…in the words of the great Judge Judy…”Grow up and stop acting like a baby!”
If you haven’t seen the episode here it is with no commercials. Be sure to go to the youtube page and read the ”Quick Review”provided by the person who posted it. Michael Kiefer is referred to in the description as a “douchebag.” The comments are worth reading too.
